A process for the preparation of AlH3(PO4)2.3H2O from clay by contacting the clay with phosphoric acid until all the usable quantities of aluminium dissolve in the acid, separation of the insoluble siliceous solids and recovery of AlH3(PO4)2.3H2O from the phosphoric acid.
