ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The invention relates to a method and a spinning-apparatus for the precise regulation of the rate of introduction and content of alumina in a tank for the produc-tion of aluminum by electrolysis of alumina dissolved in a bath at cryolite-based, whose upper part forms a frozen crust and whose alumina content must be maintained within a narrow range selected between 1% and 3.5%, according to which process the alumina is introduced directly into the bath of molten cryolite by at least one held open hole in the frozen crust and modulates the intro-duction of alumina pace with changes in the internal resis-tance of the vessel during the pre-determined time intervals, alternating alumina insertion cycles slower rate and rate faster than the rate corresponding to normal use of the tank.
