ABSTRACTA separation device for connecting together an aero-dynamic braking device and a payload, comprising: holdingparts assembled together and provided with suspension meansthrough which a first suspension element connecting thebraking device to said separating device passes, theseholding parts being movable relative to one another forforming a closed opening. A second suspension elementconnecting the payload to the separating device, thissecond suspension element passing through the closed openingof said holding parts and carrying a payload. Holding meansare provided for maintaining the holding parts in a positionforming the closed opening and release means cooperatingwith at least one of the holding parts for automaticallyfreeing the suspension element from the opening formed bythe holding parts when the second suspension element isrelieved of its payload.
