ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREMultiaxially oriented laminates comprised of substan-tially uniaxially oriented sheets of liquid crystal polymers anda method of production thereof are provided which exhibitdesirable mechanical properties and good thermal and chemicalresistance. The sheets which comprise the laminate are thermallybonded together and oriented at an angle to one another to pro-vide the multiaxially oriented laminate. The mechanical proper-ties of the laminate can be adapted for specific applications byadjustment of the number, thickness and angle of orientation ofeach sheet.
