ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREThis oscillator comprises a periodicstructure line constituted by a successionof vanes having an orifice in whichpropagates a linear electron beam. This lineis placed over a cavity constituted by a straightparallelepiped which a rectangular base, whosedimensions are determined in such a way that itbehaves like a waveguide at the cut off frequency,along the longitudinal axis of the line and on atransverse magnetic or TMmn mode with m = 1, 3, 5etc. and n = 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. Coupling slots areprovided on the cavity between two successivevanes and in a gap between pairs of vanes.the anode voltage of the beam and the distancebetween two successive vanes are selected insuch a way that the cavity resonates at thecut-off frequency and on the .pi. mode.
