Medication infusion system having redundant safety features and including condition detecting and informational alarm generating apparatus (70) for providing alarms for moisture detected by the moisture detector (59); detecting when the medication reservoir (22) is full; detecting by the limit control (110, 112) that an inappropriate limit has been set; the intended medication pumping does not correlate with the pumping actually effected; detecting by the battery charge control (96) a low battery condition; the medication reservoir is low; or the system is switched off. The apparatus may provide subcutaneous electrical, thermal, or audible stimulation to the patient and also provide a signal which a physician can monitor.
