The device of the present invention comprises a plurality of weights (8) which rotatingly vibrate. Those weights (8) are on one hand guided and on the other hand driven with said rotation motion by resilient blades (6, 7) which connect them on one hand to the frame (9) of the machine and on the other hand to the vibrating translation member (3) which transmits its motion to the moving end of the test piece being tested. The weights (8) and the resilient blades (6, 7) are so arranged that said movable end of the test piece (1) is correctly guided in its translation motion, that the resilient and inertial system thus formed is dynamically balanced, and that the mass of said system is much smaller than that of a single weight (8) directly connected to the movable end of the test piece (1) and translatingly vibrating, for comparable operating conditions.
