Apparatus for washing out the visible surface of freshly pressed wash concrete slabs (12), which has a stationary support surface (11) for the concrete slabs (12) which are disposed in a perpendicular position during the washing operation, and a pressure fluid-controlled gripping means (13) which lifts the concrete slabs from the support surface (11) after the washing operation, characterised in that disposed down-stream of the gripping means (13) is a transfer means (21) which can be pivoted through about 85 degrees from the horizontal position upwardly and back into the horizontal position again and which has a support bar (22) and a contact plate (23) for the concrete slabs, and that disposed downstream of the transfer means (21) is a clamping head (26) which is horizontally reciprocable and which can also be limitedly raised and lowered, for lifting the concrete slabs from the transfer means (21) and for depositing same on a removal conveyor means.
