The working roller (4) is pivoted downwards out of its working position while at the same time the next roller (4), which is already driven, is pivoted upwards into the working position. Also disclosed is an associated device, in which in each case four rollers (4) are mounted in rotary plates (3) lying opposite one another and are set in rotation by a central drive (7) arranged on one of the plates. By turning a plate pair, the uppermost roller comes out of the working position and frees this position for the next roller. The exchanged roller can then be demounted and replaced by a new roller.
