Perfluoroalkyl maleate monoamides and perfluoroalkyl fumarate monoamides of the formula IMAGE in which R1 denotes C2-C20-perfluoroalkyl or perfluoroalkoxyperfluoroalkyl, R2 denotes hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl, naphthyl or phenylamino, R3 denotes hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or cyclohexyl, R2 and R3 together with the nitrogen atom denote a five- or six-membered hydrogenated heterocycle, X and Y denote hydrogen, halogen or C1-C6-alkyl and m denotes an integer from 1 to 6, a process for their preparation and their use for the oil- and water-repellent finish of textile material.
