A polyurethane polymer polyol can be made by the reaction of an aromatic nitrogen-containing polyol, a polyether polyol and an organic polyisocyanate. The aromatic nitrogen-containing polyol may be made by reacting 2 to 5 moles of an alkylene oxide, e.g. ethylene or propylene oxide, with 1 mole of the Mannich reaction product of a mole of a phenol, e.g. phenol or nonylphenol, with 1 or 2 moles of a hydroxy amine, e.g. diethanolamine, and may have a molecular weight of 300 to 800. The polyether polyol may have a molecular weight of 3.000 to 8,000. This polyurethane polymer polyol may be used in the manufacture of flexible polyurethane foams which are firmer and stronger than similar products made using conventional polyols.
