PURPOSE:To obtain a cold cathode fluorescent lamp improving intensity of illumination, by forming a pair of electrodes comprising external electrodes and internal electrodes with a metal of high purity and forming an opening of the both electrodes to a truncated cone shaped cylinder spreading from the base end toward the point end of the electrode. CONSTITUTION:A fluorescent material is applied to a tube internal wall surface 1 of a fluorescent lamp A. An electrode 2 is formed as a cold cathode type by using a metal of high purity. A pair of the electrodes 2, 2 of the fluorescent lamp A are constituted as a double electrode by external electrodes 3 and internal electrodes 4. The electrode 3 has an opening 5 facing to the opposite electrode 3, and the opening 5 is formed to be able to spread from the base end toward the point end of the electrode 3. The electrode 3 is formed to a cylindrical shape of an almost truncated cone. The electrode 4 is set to the inside of the opening 5 and formed as a cylinder of almost truncated cone shape, further an opening 6 is also formed to be able to spread from the base end toward the point end of the electrode 4. The inside of a tube of the fluorescent lamp A is vacuumized, and a mercury particle 7 and argon atom 8 are sealed. In this way, a cold cathode fluorescent lamp improving intensity of illumination can be obtained.
