The connector (10) fits over the inner conductor of a coaxial cable. It is developed into a drum shaped section (12, 14) into which a series of axial slits (24) are cut. These slits form spring leaf sections (28) but leave a solid rim (26) at the outer end of the connector as well as a rim at the cable end. To give the necessary spring force, the slotted drum is deformed to give a barrel shape. The connector is intended for fairly large cables and typically has a barrel diameter of about 30mm.
