Hospital bed comprising a toilet means fitting therein, with the mattress assembly (2) comprising a vertical section (3) in the area of the patient's gluteal region in which a mattress fitting piece (4) is joined to a first mounting, said fitting piece being removable downwardly from the section (3) by means of a drive means (7, 8) and being movable into a position lateral to the section (3), and whereby the toilet means (10) is disposed at a second mounting (swinging lever 11) and may be brought together with the toilet basis (9) instead of the mattress fitting piece (4) into the section (3) by means of further drive means (13, 14), characterized in that in the drain (syphon 23) of the toilet basin (9) a pump means (24) is provided with, if required, a comminuting means (propeller 25) for pumping off the faeces.
