The invention relates to swimming cushions as water sports accessories. The technical problem is to provide an individual with a device which permits observation of a spatial section below a surface of water with as many contrasts as possible without the need to dive. The individual is to be able to breathe freely and at least his head should be out of the water. The technical solution (Figures 1 and 2) comprises the construction of a swimming cushion (1) having an observation window (18), a viewing shaft (3) and a face mask (2) which screens off extraneous light. The swimming cushion supports the weight of the head, the arms and parts of the upper body of an individual. When coupled to a special second swimming body or surfboard, air mattress or the like, the total weight of the observer lying on the two swimming bodies is supported. Forward movement is possible by paddling just with the hands and/or swimming movements of the legs. The swimming cushion opens up part of the underwater world near the coast to all non-divers and permits noiseless long-term observation. IMAGE
