A plurality of thin sheets (12) is applied to both sides of a supporting base board (11), said sheets being self-coloured in respectively different colorations. The sheets (12) consist preferably of a polyester-impregnated, coloured paper. It is provided to manufacture the individual sheets (12) of at least two separate papers respectively, which are permanently bonded together. By cutting profiles into one surface of the multi-layer board (10), depending on the depth of the cuts, the colours of the lower sheets (12), which were first covered by the topmost sheet (12), become visible. It is thus possible to manufacture profiled furniture facings of at least two contrasting colours by simple cutting work. IMAGE
