An electric tool for pure drilling operation, for percussion- or hammer-drilling operation and also for pure percussion operation is to be constructed so as to be more universal to the effect that it can also be used as a tool for inserting plugs in drilled holes and for driving in nails and suchlike fastening elements. This is achieved by the electric tool being equipped with an arrangement for initiating individual blows or percussion intervals, which arrangement can be effectively actuated after the change-over action to pure percussion or hammer operation (Fig. 1b).
