A cleaning device for the inlet-side weir of small power stations is provided which supports the cleaning beam by means of a frame-shaped slide displaceable in a guide frame. The guide frame is swivelled about a transverse axis by means of hydraulic cylinders, and the slide is pushed up and down by means of hydraulic cylinders. From a rest position in which all parts are located above the water, the cylinders are controlled according to a predetermined program during every cleaning operation.
