The invention relates to a closure stopper made of elastic plastic for bottles subjected to internal pressure, in particular bottles of sparkling wine, having a sleeve part which can be inserted into the mouth of the bottle, tapers conically towards the bottom, is open at the bottom and is closed at the top by a mushroom-shaped cap which surrounds the sleeve part in the manner of a ring and is open at the bottom, a number of reinforcement webs, arranged spaced apart, being provided between the inside wall of the cap and the outside wall of the sleeve part. A web-type cross is provided in the sleeve part at the level of the lower edges of the reinforcement webs which can be placed on the rim of the bottle, on which cross a seal is mounted in the sleeve part, which seal can be subjected to the internal pressure of the bottle. The sleeve part, the web-type cross, the cap and the reinforcement webs are produced integrally of polyethylene in one operation, which reduces the production costs considerably. The seal, which is pressed against the web-type cross in the sleeve part by the internal pressure of the bottle, reduces diffusion of carbon dioxide via the cap of the closure stopper to an amount which is well below the permissible limit.
