The invention relates to a process for adhesive bonding of narrow planar UP tapes made by the cold-hardening process to the edges of wood-based material boards according to the hot/cold process using conventional melt adhesives. The adhesive bonding should meet in particular the requirements of dry climate as well of changing climate. The object consists in achieving strong mechanical anchoring with the melt adhesive used by a suitable pretreatment of the narrow planar tape. According to the invention an aqueous polyvinyl acetate dispersion containing 10 to 40% of an inorganic filler is applied to the reverse side of the narrow planar band before processing and is dried. The invention can be used for the coating of furniture components.
