INT-104ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA process and facility for upgrading heavy hydrocarbonaceousmaterials for making coke suitable for metallurgical purposescomprises mixing the heavy hydrocarbonaceous materials with adiluent having a closely controlled boiling range so as tofacilitate transport, dehydration and desalting of the crudeoil. In addition, the diluent aids in controlling temperatureand residence time of the crude thereby avoiding prematuredecomposition.
