A guide system for the insertion of weft yarns for double weaving machines and a weaving machine with a guide system of this type are indicated, the weaving machine being designed without shuttles, and the insertion taking place, for example, by means of an air jet or water jet. The comb (10) of the weaving machine is mounted on an articulated parallelogram joint (14) which imparts to the comb a movement parallel to itself. A first and a second identically designed limiting device (22, 24) are mounted respectively on the slay (12) and on the superstructure (26a) of the comb batten in symmetrical positions and guarantee the guidance of the weft yarns (20, 20') into the identically designed upper and lower sheds (6, 6').
