Generating printed paper tape with adhesive borders - by applying covered double sided adhesive tape to part of the paper tape

An integrated process is described for printing paper tape and providing the tape with adhesive borders by applying along the borders strips of double sided adhesive tape from which one of two detachable cover strips is freshly removed. The residual cover strip is wider than the adhesive strip, to provide a free edge to facilitate subsequent removal of the second cover strip. Used for mfr. of tapes where parts of the print pattern are required to extend to the borders and/or are required to be applied to adhesive-free zones at intervals along the tape after application of adhesive to the borders.
