The flashing light display is made up of a chain of units (1). Each unit gives a flash during a separate time interval. Each unit includes a two position switching circuit (2) connected to an oscillator (7). A control circuit (17) actuates, after receiving a trigger pulse, the two position switch (2). A multivibrator (8) input is connected to the switching circuit. The multivibrator (8) output delivers a signal which triggers a flash (12). An input terminal (14) of the unit is connected to the switching circuit and control circuit and an output thermal (13) is connected to the multivibrator (8).
