The wall (1) has an exterior face of traditional bricks (2). Each course has alternate whole and half bricks, with some of the half bricks extending into the wall (3). The inside of the wall is lined with thin tiles (6) held by shutters (8) and bracing (9). The tiles are mortar jointed and reinforced with iron bars (7). The interior of the wall has insulation (11) and is cast in situ concrete (13) connected by stirrups (12). A hole in the concrete fill at the corner of two walls take various conduits such as drains.
