Element forming plant-like chemical growths - with wicking soln. from base to dyed tips where solution dries as coloured growths

The element dips into a soln. at the base and has an intermediate wick section leading to projecting tips at which the soln. dries and forms the growths. Areas adjacent the tips are locally impregnated with dyes to colour the soln. and growth. The soln. is pref. of an alkaline salt, ammonia and water, and the element is formed by two interfitting sheets producing an ever green-like shape and e.g. of dark-coloured blotting paper. Alternatively, the wick section may be contained within a tube, e.g. a polyethylene straw, from which the tips project. The soln. components and element may be packaged as a kit.
