The folding boom sprays and distributes agricultural products. It has a first section on which a second pivots, pref. on a vertical axis, under the action of an interposed pressure-operated ram, between the folded travelling and extended working positions. It is secured in the latter by a ram-operated locking mechanism. The same ram (11) is used both for the pivoting movement and for locking, being coupled to one (2) of the two sections by a mechanism (23,24) allowing some free movement during the pivoting operation. This allows release of the locking mechanism (35), which is spring-loaded (45) into the working position.
