Rapid testing of vehicle headlights - using photometric optical camera and light-dark boundary viewing on screen with position correction

The headlights are tested by aligning the test device, which is on a plane surface, with the vehicle. A photometric optical camera is positioned w.r.t. the vehicle's longitudinal axis and adjusted to the height required. The light-dark boundary on a screen at the camera's (4) focal distance is viewed w.r.t. a boundary, marked on the screen. The accuracy and speed of testing are increased by virtue of full camera screen (6) position correction. The position of the screen in the camera is corrected by tilting the camera in a vertical plane about an inclination angle corresp. to the height of the headlight being tested. The camera is mounted on a stand (1) with a shaped guide (2) giving controlled inclination.
