Spreader for granular materials - has laterally tilting hopper and extraction screw aiding discharge at low hopper loads

The spreader (5) has a chute (10) dumping the material on a rotating ejector plate (11), the spreader being mounted at the rear of the tilting hopper (3). An extraction screw (6) is coupled to motor drive (8) to give an automatic feed of the material (9) to the chute, the screw being placed longitudinally near the base of the hopper and to that side which is low when the hopper tilts. The spreader can be used for road gritting or chemical distribution. Alternatively, the ejector plate can be in the hopper middle and the screw is then split in equal halves of opposite hand thread.
