The rot-proof shingle is formed from a sheet of rot-proof stainless steel, aluminum, tin or iron with an anti-corrosion coating. The shingle includes first hook (1) for fixing on slat and second hook (2) maintaining top edge of tile with play take-up part (3). The first hook is provided with a right angle having drilled holes (4) allowing the fixing of the shingle on the slats via a screw. The play take-up part consists of a fixed plate (5) movable along a stem (6) against the action of a return spring (7) to accommodate differences in tile length fixings. The body (8) of the shingle is provided with elevated longitudinal edges (9) formed by stamping or folding, which delimit a central drainage canal under the joint between two close tiles.
