The framework for a modular portable tent comprises at least two hoops, each of which contains four identical metallic bars (21,22,23,24). The ends of the bars are inserted into identical assembly nodes (3) and adjacent hoops are interconnected by transverse metallic bars (26,27,28) identical to those forming the hoops. The assembly nodes (3) comprise a one-piece cruciform moulding presenting four openings, two of which are in line and the other two of which make an angle of about 135 deg. with one another.
