The bearing provides an axial and rotational coupling between the rotor and the alternator shaft and has at least two resilient rings. Each of these is compressed between the rotor and the alternator shaft with a limited amount of radial play and fit into grooves at either end of the rotor and annular grooves around the alternator shaft. Pref. each of the rings is acted on by an annular stop fitted to the opposite ends of the rotor. Alternatively, the bearing may use a resilient sleeve extending over the full width of the rotor. The rotor bearing eliminates noise and vibration.
