The air stream separator has a conveyor and a fan with an air nozzle at the output end of the conveyor to produce an air stream inclined upward in the conveying direction. The conveyor (31) is a vibrating conveyor at which the heavier fraction is collected on its bottom. An additional conveyor is located in the conveying direction after the output end, and located below it. The additional conveyor (32) has an upwardly inclined portion (37) at its input end which becomes parallel with the main conveying direction. The heavier fractions drop down on the inclined portion and are conveyed down it.
