The arrangement uses cross linked pneumatic cylinders to open out the blade facing the wind flow and simultaneously retract the blade returning against the wind flow. In this way the net torque on the turbine is maximised. The turbine has an even number of diametrically opposite blades, mounted on a polygonal frame attached to the central hub. One pneumatic cylinder for each blade is pivoted from the central hub at one end, and is pivoted from a blade at the other end. Diametrically opposite cylinders have their air lines connected one to the other, so while one retracts, as the blade returns against thewind, it forces the opposite one outwards to face the wind. The mechanical energy obtained can be used for electricity generation.
