Animal-trap with spring-biased jaws - has pair of leaf springs biassing jaws together and barbed bait holder holding them apart in set position

The trap has a pair of jaws (6,7) which are pivoted to a support (1). A spring in the form of two tongues (2,3) which are joined together at one end biases the two jaws together in a closed position. The free end of the upper of the two tongues in formed into a buckle (5) which slides along the ends of the jaws to pull them together. The jaws are held open to set the trap by an arrow (11) which is pivotally mounted on the support. The barbed tip (11a) of the arrow holds a piece of bait and the pivoted end of the arrow has a hooked portion which holds one of the jaws open until the bait is siezed.
