The instrument feeds liquid from a container (1) into a narrow slit between the abutting edges of two plane pieces. It comprises a needle (3) or similar mounted in a mouthpiece (2) which is in turn incorporated in the container. The needle projects from the mouthpiece, a canal (4) with a cross-sectional area of between 1 and 2 sq.mm being incorporated between the needle and the internal faces of the mouth piece. A part conical circlip (5) may fit round the shank of the needle, being wedged into the mouthpiece to secure the needle and form the canal.
