Sleeve for pressurised gas sealed joint for telephone cables - uses ferrules fitting over sealing rings locked into place over sheath of telephone cable joint

The sleeve is intended to be sealed under gas pressure, and consists of two cylindrical sleeves which fit over the cable sheaths. A tubular ferrule fitted over the spliced or jointed area and linking the two sleeves seals to fix the ferrule to the sleeves, and seals to fix the sleeves to the cable sheaths. The seals have annular rings and toroidal seal elements, and a clamping collar fitted on the periphery of the ferrule. An intermediate ring is placed between the sleeve and the ferrule where they overlap. A stopping ring is provided with a conical face of which the profile corresponds to the face separating the two sections and the sleeves. The rear surface of the ring is annular and is radially deformable.
