Medical electric equipment for treating injured muscles - includes circuit providing pulses of increasing amplitude to electrodes to determine appropriate amplitude level which is memorised
The medical electrical equipment for diagnosis and treatment of muscular injuries includes electrodes for applying pulses of controlled slope to the muscles. A series of pulses of fixed frequency and fixed duration, but increasing amplitude are applied. A manual control is provided to stop the increase in amplitude when a muscular reaction is observed in the patient. This partic. amplitude value is memorised. A second series of pulses of different fixed duration is then applied and the process repeated. Once the results of these two tests are known, then treatment using pulses of constant amplitude may be applied at the most suitable level. A clock and digital logic circuit control the operation of the two test sequences.
