Headlamp aim adjuster with hydraulic servo on second lamp - uses linkage on first headlamp with hydraulic master cylinder coupled to linkage and operating slave on other headlamp
The transducer is placed in the vicinity of a first headlamp of a motor vehicle to adjust the lamp orientation by tilting the lamp about an axis fixed to the vehicle, in response to a control signal. A single transducer similarly adjusts a second headlamp. The double transducer is a mechanical piston with a mechanical linkage to the first headlamp and moving in a fixed trajectory, referred to the vehicle body. A hydraulic piston follows a trajectory parallel to the mechanical piston and displaces hydraulic fluid into a second hydraulic cylinder acting as the single transducer for the second headlamp. To compensate the inertia of the hydraulic system, a delay is incorporated in the movement of the mechanical piston.
