Stop valve for controlling water levels in e.g. washing machines - with thermo:mechanical compensation for temp. effects on a spring loaded magnetic valve

A pressure sensitive switch for controlling water levels in domestic equipment such as washing machines involves a flexible elastic membrane carrying a permanent magnet and partially supported by a spring in compression, where the compression spring is mounted in line with a convex bimetallic disc. The variation in radius of the bimetallic disc with temp. is used to compensate for variations in magnetic field strengths when subjected to varying operating temps., e.g. so that a magnetically actuated cut-off valve will produce consistent water load levels (volumes) in the equipment for different temp. conditions.
