Filter for removal of surface debris - from water, uses rotating drum with projecting blade to deposit material into discharge device

A filtration device employs a rotating horizontal drum with a projecting blade to lift floating materials from a liq. surface and to discharge them over a flat scoop into a collecting vessel. The scoop is able to remain in contact with the drum by virtue of the projecting blade being retractable into the drum, a position it is forced into by the sloping leading edge of the scoop. For use in the clarification of water for recirculating water curtains as used in paint spray booths for the removal of paint particles from air. The device is esp. for the removal of those paint particles which remain floating on the water surface.
