The window comprises horizontal elongate shutters (20) and glass panes (10) which can be independently pivoted about a common axis (6) towards the interior of the building. Each shutter can be held in intermediate positions between an open position in which it lies below its pivotal axis (6) and a closed position in which it lies above the axis parallel to the window facade. Each glass pane pivots between an open position and a closed position in which it is parallel to the window facade, the pane lying below its pivotal axis in each case.
