Aerofoil sail for boat - is twin skinned and variably spaced to form aerodynamic wing shape

The sail for a marine vessel has mast (1) and, at its rear sides, two identical sail skins (4b,4t) which are flexible and in strips. At rest, the geometry is such that an aerodynamic wing is formed by an inflatable spacer (5). Spacing is zero on the trailing edge (11) and maximum behind the leading edge (1). Zero spacing is obtained by joining the two seals at each strip end. Alternatively, the edges can form a rectangular gap with a sliding connection.
