The driving pulley (10A) has a fixed flange (12A) bolted to the shaft (14A) and a mobile flange (13A) fixed to a sliding bush (16A) on the shaft. The two flanges are closed together by a Belleville washer, acting on the edge (20A) of the mobile flange. The fingers of the Belleville washer pivot about a flange (22A) fixed to the shaft. The opening action of the pulley is achieved with a set of rotating flyweights (36A), which pivot about the periphery of the flange (22A) and exert a pressure on the inside of the Belleville washer against its normal action. The force of the flyweights is proportional to the speed of rotation.
