The lock for movable panels comprises latches (3) on the free edges of the panels, which engage into lateral openings (2) in a vertical tubular post (1). A locking element (5) moving longitudinally inside the post contains appropriately positioned slots and cut-outs which allow it to move between two extreme positions. In one position, the locking element locates over the latches (3), preventing withdrawal from the post whilst in the other position it allows the latches to move freely in or out of the post.
