Lock system for secure coin box at e.g. toll gate - uses spring loaded blanking plate for coin entry orifice which operates on removal from dispensing machine

The coin box comprises a steel box with a hinged lid. The box has a carrying handle at each end. An orifice (16) for the coins has an opening which can be opened only once during attachment to the coin inlet assembly. The locking assembly comprises a blanking plate (10) which is mounted on a pivot shaft (20) and activated by a spring (12) fixed to an anchor point (17) and to a button (21) on the plate. A second plate (11) pivots on the shaft and stops against a claw (13) when activated by a spring (12). The two plates describe a circular movement when the coin orifice (16) is opened. The button moves in the slot (25) in the blanking plate and movement of the plates frees a piston (14) which presses against the blanking plate. A centering guide enters two openings and when the box is removed the springs return the plates to their initial positions.
