The track (5) guided carriage (3) supports the main feed pipe (1) of a pneumatic conveyor, moves the main pipe over the open ends of ancillary pipes (2a-2f) to alternative storage silos, and is equipped to connect the main pipe to the ancillary pipe over which it locates. A main pipe end fitting (14,15) is mounted slidably on the carriage, being built into the piston (18) of a pneumatic ram of which the carriage substructure forms the casing (17,13). The jack is used to withdraw the fitting whilst a spring (28) moves it forward to seal onto the relevant ancillary pipe end (16). A roller (12) mounted on a finger (10) may enter a flare-mouth (9) recess (8) to locate the carriage relative to the ancillary pipe, longitudinal play relative to the drive chain (6) being provided by a spring piston coupling (34-35).
