Plastic boxes for display purpose - with push fit mouldings to trim the edges to combine ease of assembly with high quality appearance

A decorative box is assembled from a combination of an open-topped body panel having at least three side walls plus a base and a separate lid, where the corners of the body, the lower edges of the sidewalls and the borders of the lid are all rebated to engage peripheral frames prefabricated as mouldings sized to be a press fit on to the body and lid. The frame of the lid features two or more lugs to serve as hinges transfixed to pins passing across slots in the rear wall of the bar to accept the lugs. Used for mfr. of boxes to contain and display jewllery, cosmetics etc, the box and the frame components pref. being of contrasting colours, opt. pigmented to resemble traditional precious materials such as ivory or ebony. Combines the simplicity of mechanical assembly (compared with e.g. solvent or fusion welding) with edge detail having the clean sharp appearance characteristic of mouldings having a small cross-section.
