Improvements to water desalination units with or without the simultaneous production of electrical power from hot and cold water sources with a small DELTA T used in an open cycle at a subatmospheric pressure

The improvements relate to machines operating at subatmospheric pressure which are designed for the desalination of water with or without the production of electrical and/or mechanical power using two sources of water. These sources are generally saline, have temperatures below 100 DEG C and have a small temperature difference DELTA T between them. More particularly, the invention concerns the construction of such machines in reinforced concrete. A multicellular enclosure 1 housing the boiler 5 and the condenser 6 is made absolutely airtight by immersion in water 3 at atmospheric pressure contained in a reservoir 2 supported by a framework 17, all resting on supply tanks 18 and 19 set on a base 34. The whole system is a water tower which automatically produces desalinated water with or without the simultaneous production of electrical and/or mechanical power. IMAGE
