PURPOSE:To improve economy, mechanical strength and electrospark machining speed by coating at least a layer of copper and zinc alternatively on the surface of steel or iron alloy core wire and then stretching the core wire with at least 85% of surface reducing rate. CONSTITUTION:Layers of Cu and Zn are alternatively coated on the surface of a core wire using carbon steel, high strength high carbon steel or alloy steel such as stainless steel by electroplating, chemical plating, vaporization, etc. and then stretched with at least 85% of surface reducing rate. Then, the diffusing alloying reaction of Cu-Zn is produced by the mechanical thermal action in working to form Cu-Zn alloy layer of the surface of the core wire for improving electrospark machining speed.
